I’ve been fighting the Battle of the Blog for two days; my patience and goodwill are both running short.
I’ve posted to this blog, successfully, every week for seven months. I’ve managed to write copy, add scans or photographs that I’ve stored on my desktop, and post, successfully, since July.
And now, suddenly, when trying to post for the first time in 2013, it’s not working.
Frustrated, I contacted my Web Mistress, who did some minor investigating...
...it seems that Google+ wants me to do things their way in 2013 – wants me to use their blogging program; wants me to integrate their social media applications (circles, friends, web albums, webcams, networks, feeds, advertising promos, links, etc.). Google+ wants me to add more personal information onto my profile and wants me to accept more targeted advertising based on that information; wants me to give up any sense of privacy and control!
I want no part of it, even though the price of not conforming may be loss of access to this blog.
It may take a while, but if my Mistress and I can figure out how to avoid this technological invasion of privacy, I’ll be back.
Until then, this blog will sit idle.
I’ll miss you all.
